There is just one purpose of this website: to share the joy of the countryside in the city.

So many people long to escape from urban life, perhaps for a few hours, maybe for a lifetime, with long journeys to a rural spot or all the disruption of moving house.

But nature is all around us in London.

Starting in East London, I have discovered dozens of rural spots and now I am exploring Central and North London so there will be much more to find out about through the Byways of London.
